Pledges for 2012

Your pledge is very important in many ways which allows St. John’s to make important budgeting decisions and be a good steward of its resources. Also, making a pledge can be a spiritual practice that helps connect us to God and to our ministry for St. John’s. Show your spiritual practice and support by picking up a pledge card in the Narthex. You can place the pledge form in the offering plate or mail it to the main office.

 BIBLICAL STATEMENT

St. John's is a Christian community that bases its life together on the Summary of the Law: "Jesus said, 'THE FIRST COMMANDMENT IS THIS: HEAR, O ISRAEL: THE LORD OUR GOD IS THE ONLY LORD. LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH. THE SECOND IS THIS: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF'." [Matthew 22:37-39]

MISSION STATEMENT
ST. JOHN'S IS A CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY THAT INTENTIONALLY GATHERS TO EXPERIENCE GOD'S LOVE THROUGH EPISCOPAL WORSHIP, EDUCATION, FELLOWSHIP, AND MINISTRY TO THE WIDER COMMUNITY.

 VISION STATEMENT

Based on its Biblical Statement and Mission Statement, St. John's discerns its highest priorities in the next three years are the following:

1. To learn more about who we are as a local congregation, as members of the Diocese of San Diego, as members of The Episcopal Church, and as members of the Anglican Communion.

2. To tell our story more effectively to the local community, especially to new families.

3. To strengthen relationships between the St. John's church community and the St. John's school community.

4. To continue to develop the various outreach programs that are an important part of the parish.

5. To grow as a parish in terms of membership, leadership, and stewardship (time, talent and treasure).

Thank you for visiting our website. We hope you'll also visit our church. If you do, you'll be joining people who are called to follow God in Christ through love, worship, and service in a nurturing community where all are welcome.

A look around our site will give you an idea of the work we do together at St. John's. But the single most important thing about our church, at this moment, is that you are visiting our web site. Do you really think that's just a coincidence? What are you searching for? How is the God who created you and us alive in your life right now?

Perhaps you, and we, will find that we are called to answer those questions together.  We hope so!  If you have any questions about St. John's or the Episcopal Church please contact any member of the clergy or vestry.

For now, wherever you are on your journey of faith, may our loving God bless you and those whose lives you touch, this day and forever.

We hope you will find this website helpful as you look through the pages. We have included links to the clergy, staff, ministries' leaders, San Diego Diocese and Episcopal Church.
