In the fifties a group of parishioners had a vision: to
create a traditional school for children in which their intellectual, moral
and physical development would be kindled to celebrate their innate gifts
from God.
Today, Saint John’s Episcopal
School is more than a school. It's a family. We foster character development at an early
age.
St. John’s prides itself on creating a strong sense of community among
students, faculty, staff and parents.
Within a supportive and nurturing environment, young
people become active, creative learners and caring individuals prepared for success
both inside and outside of the classroom.
Academic preparation is one of the core elements of
the St. John’s experience, and students are challenged academically from
day one. We provide the building blocks of
education, along with an array of classes to create a well-rounded individual
including art, music, drama, Spanish, and physical education.
St. John's administers the Stanford Achievement Test
as a gauge of our students' academic progress. On average, our elementary students
test 1½ years above grade level and our middle school students are at 3½ years
above grade level.
Extra-curricular activities include, but not limited to,
the following: Student Council, Spelling Bee, Chess Club, cheerleading, and
flag football.
