Liturgical Ministries

Weekly a congregation gathers for worship in what feels like a seamless experience. This is actually the coordinated effort of several volunteer teams:
Acolytes - ministers at the altar of God and assistants to the priest Altar Guild - responsible for preparing the church for our worship, including the care of the altar to maintain the beauty of our worship Chalice Bearers - assist in the distribution of communion Lectors - read the lessons from Holy Scripture during the service Choir - provides uplifting music during worship and leads congregational singing of hymns Flower Guild - creates the flower arrangements to beautify the church for worship Ushers - welcome worshipers, assist newcomers, distribute bulletins and collect the offerings Hospitality (Coffee Hour following worship) - providing light refreshments to share on Sundays |
Service Ministries

St. John's has a variety of ministries that serve our neighbors and the Chula Vista community through prayer and action:
Prayers and Squares - sewing Prayer Quilts at parishioner's requests for anyone in need of prayer and support Daughters of the King - The mission of The Order of Daughters of the King is the extension of Christ's Kingdom through Prayer, Service and Evangelism Members of St. John's - providing fellowship and service to support the mission of St. John's Veteran/Military Outreach - Ministry to active military members, veterans, and their families allows the opportunity for St. John's to support them in their spiritual needs |

The Outreach Committee meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6pm on Zoom. |
